Probably red or something close to that like burgundy (my favorite color). Got my dress on Monday night and shoes, just need the rest...
But not superbright colors though...

My cousin is a retired Marine so I never got invited to go to the Marine Corps Ball but I was forced to go to my AFROTC detachment's Air Force Ball in modified service dress uniform. I would wear a red dress to go with his dress blues. The red would be a nice contrast with the dark blue of his uniform, and appearences are everything in the military. Just remember go for a nice elegant dress and not like my friend's date who wore a yellow, orange, and green tie-dye dress.
Also you'll have a good time at the ball, I can promise you that .

A ball is considered "black tie" so ladies should wear an evening gown or better. Something between the knee and ankle. You want something that you walk, sit and dance in. Black or red would be a good color for the Marine Uniform.

I think Red would be a good choice most people look radiant in red and it will go great with his uniform. Just remember that this is a military function and they are very strict about dress. You should get something elegant that isn't revealing or covered in sequins or beads. This may sound odd but most bridesmaid dresses are acceptable. Use your good judgment and you will be fine. If you have questions ask your man he will know what his command will allow and not allow.

I wore a red dress when I went and it looked beautiful with his Blues. If you want to wear black, that's fine too, but that's pretty plain unless you can find a beautiful black dress.
Mine was strapless and so pretty! Wear something that you feel the best in! make sure it's not too casual. Mine was like a prom dress, but prettier. haha.

Remember his friends and more importantly his seniors are going to be there. This is NOT prom! Avoid sequins. Avoid anything TOO revealing, or sexy. I'm not sayin you cant show a lil leg, or a lil cleavage. Avoid showing belly button (just not cute). When showing leg and/or cleavage... use judgement as if your grandfather was gonna be there.

Everyone seems to be saying Red. I wore red to my1st ball and I liked it. But alot of girls came in white, blue, pink, yellow, different bright colors. make sure its formal, its NOTTTT prom and remember if you wear something slutty and nasty your date will hear about it at work for months and months.
