Hi,

I am on ammocillian and i am getting bad side effects of really bad dioreah and nausia. I get tonsillitus frequently so i am always on it. I stop taking it after 48 hours as thats how long it takes for the sickness of the anitbiotices to kick in. Is this just a normal side effect of it ? By the way i am getting my tonsills out in 2 weeks so hopefully i wont have to take to much more of it.

Call your doctor. Even if he just takes you off the meds, he should know that the medicine is making you ill. I get bronchitis every few years, and the last time, a doc put me on antibiotics. They caused nausea and vomiting and a rash on my torso. Quitting the meds helped.

Many antibiotics cause nausea and diarrhea. This is a side effect NOT an allergic reaction. and very common for amoxicillin & other penicillins. Some times switching antibiotic classes can help diminish these; but since you are getting your tonsils out your need to use it will drop. Also, be aware, that taking an antibiotic for only 48 hours is not enough time for it to work so that could be why you are always sick--you are never getting fully cured.

Amoxicillian is a synthetic penicillin and you are having an allergic reaction to it, See your doctor urgently
