lean cuisine, south diet, k-bars, etc. advertise that they can help with my diet as i want to lose 20 lbs. do they help???

Heres a better way to think about it:

Why would they advertise it as low fat and low in calories? because they want people to BUY it. They will say w/e is necessary to make people buy their goods.

Tv dinners and lean cuisine meals are not good for you. They are high in bad fats, bad calories, sodium, and have hardly and nutritional value. Stay away from processed foods like that if you want to lose weight. And stick to whole natural foods you can make yourself.

They can help in keeping the calories down, but they generally contain a whole lot of sodium,

It's like anything...-it depends on how you use them. If that's ALL you eat at one sitting- you probably can make a diet out of them. But if use use them as a "snack" on top of what you ordinarily eat- they're not going to do you much good.
