The life we live in now is probably pergutory and we are paying for our sins with the corruption of how life is now. Sure, there are some good moments, but do you ever think that how we live life in this "purgatory" determines how we will be in the afterlife.
Honestly, you can't just throw in the bible because who wrote it?... people with probably no more clue than we have now.

It is not what we know matters. It is always what we do that matters. What we do today will bring its results to day or tomorrow.
If you are going to keep on brooding, them it is your purgatory.
