Lets look at it this way!
There is a lot of symbolism in the bible.
Perhaps we should think of it as "the world we know" was created when the bible says it was. That yes there was a planet that was put together for us to live on, but it wasn't ready for us till that time.
I don't think I would have been happy with the likes of huge animals stalking me for dinner!

Man has been on the Earth about 5768 years (give or take a small amount of years). How long the Earth has existed, is another story. The days of creation; especially Days 1,2,and 3 are probably much more than 24 hours as the Sun, Moon, and stars were not created until day 4.

The earth has been here a very, very long time. But, life on this earth is less than 15,000 years.

Science and the Bible can easily co-exist. Just as much as some try to disprove the Bible with science, there are those who prove accounts in the Bible with science everyday. Even the creation account has scientific back-up. As it is, evolution is a theory built upon other theories and circular reasoning, so why not give Creationism it's scientific due?

Remember Carbon dating is only good for back to 50,000 to 70,000 years ago, older specimens are dated with ratios of several different isotopes.

This is so that peolpe won't drag up the "problems with Carbon dating" argument. Of course most of those "problems" have been accounted for by using a ratio between the carbon isotopes.

The world was created well over 1 million years ago, probably closer to 100 million years ago.

There were no Dinosaurs walking around 6000 years ago.

The oldest human remains discovered in Ethiopia are 1.2 million years old.

Carbon dating is only good for 100,000 I mean 6000 years the creationists will say....or the carbon dioxide concentration affected the dating results..some BS they heard from Hovind or Haggard or someone else in jail.

Creationists forget that there are many other radiometric isotopes which are used for dating.

The radioisotopes uranium-lead, potassium-argon and rubidium-strontium are actually used to age the earth.

Read some of your answers and you know science and religion don't mix. Science trys to tell an accurate accounting of existance as it can, while religions use the MIND to imagine the facts they stand upon and the two will never be one. Like oil and water they don't mix.......

"They" say it's a lie or faulty. Not mentioning the fact that carbon dating is only one of quite a number of ways to date things.

Does carbon dating make you anymore happier or a better person? Carbon dating is a theory, a calculation and that's it.
