Ok, i freeze on the court. A LOT! My coaches tell me I'm the fastest player on the court, they even call me "speed freak"... but whenever that ball gets hit at me something tells me to just 'STOP'. It won't quit! I'm sick of it, the coaches are sick of it and my team is sick of it. How do I pull out of this before I lose my place on my team and more importantly my confidence that I can even play this game.

As suggested by super.rissa, you should have a drill where you are the target. You have to dig 5 in a row to get off the court. You can have one player hit from power and one from offside. I mean from the floor in front of the net. One from the right, one from the left, one from the right until you get 5 in a row. If the players really hit hard, 5 in a row with control will actually take some time.
You can actually have other players that play in the back row participate in this drill. It does not have to be just for you.

I get what you mean. When I first started I felt the same way. Before the game starts, just take deep breathes and try to relax. And when you're on the court, think of it as practice. You might want to ask your coach to spilt the team in half and have one side play the other just like it is in the game.

Hope I helped!

i understand whats goin' on. i do the exact same thing! i play junior varsity v-ball at my high school and i play great at practice but on the court, i'm like a statue that doesn't talk. what you need to do is stay clam, and get your head in the game. you don't have to be that stiff, let the ball pop off your arms and them play it. you do not need to bo jumping around to get the ball, just take it eay and pop it up. what works for me, when i get stiif and freak out, i sing " here comes the BOOM!" that always gets me pumped and when i sing that, i get the ball over and get a point! i hope i helped you out and great luck on your next game!! :P

Have someone on your team who is a hard hitter hit balls at you as hard as she can. You will have to either move so someone else can get the ball, or pass it so you won't get hurt! Make sure that the girl hits it HARD!! the is the only way that you will learn from drill.

Play your super duper best Volleyball yet. Don't listen to the voices in your head. Most of all, don't think. Just hit the volleyball the best your can, and you will do great.
