I'm finally getting my own room and I want to make it colorful and happy.

As quirky as it may sound:
would it be alright if my walls were interchangeably green, purple, green purple? ( the green and purple would be leaning towards the pastelish side )
and if my carpet was blue?

Feel Free to make other suggestions.

Purple is okay... green is not good with blue.
choose a purple is more blue than pink, then get some nice bedding in purple and cool pillow cases in those two colors (or more colors) in pattern.

I personally stay with light pastels for your bedroom. It tends to make the room more relaxing, especially at bedtime. You may want to paint "one" wall a different color than the rest, but keep it light, & make it the wall that the window is on. Have fun!!!!

well i dont know if your a guy or girl but usually if you want to go with blues or greens, those colros will relax you. Reds and oranges and stuff like that are warm energetic colors that will probably do the opposite to you if you want to relax.

Everything depends on what shades and colors you already have.
TIPS:
1] choose bedding and curtains first. Then choose favorite color[s] for walls, and a dark for the floor.
2] repeat the lighter colors in large accessories, such as chair, pillows, lamps
3] repeat bright or dark colors in pillows, vase/flowerpot, ornaments, and candle holders
4] frame all art in similar color and materials - oak/walnut,
brass/chrome, colored enamel.
5] add a plant

The best way to choose a color for your room is to trial with a palette of different shades and tones, in combination with the color and textures of the furniture and materials.
