my friend gets sick just about every 3 months. she throws up, can't keep food down, has diarrhea. she goes to the doctor to take blood but sometimes her veins collapse and it is hard to get blood. the doctor said it could be some kind of flu. could it be??????? it seems like the doctor doesn't know what is wrong.this last about a week then she is fine till it hits again. what could this be??????any answers will be appreciated.

Does she use drugs?
No disrespect. It almost sounds like she is dope sick. Why does she have collapsed veins? That usually happens from shooting up. I am really not trying to be rude. Is this a possibility?

Check back for patterns in her life that might show the cause.
Eating regularly at a restaurant, a friend's house, a party at work, a visitor to her home, someone borrowing her car, anything like that. It could be related to seasonal changes or allergic reactions to mold, insects, etc., or it could even be intentional.
If doctors do not find biological causes, they generally stop looking, but there are other things that affect the body that way.

Sounds like a stomach virus. But it would almost have to be a different one every three months... as our body will make it's own antivirus for that particular virus and it will no longer cause us problems.
She should probably see a gastro doctor the next time she has a bout with this problem.

Thats awful and unfortunately theres no easy answer! I have a condition that took me 21 years to figure out. The best thing she can do is get a second, third, fourth opinion. If one doctor doesnt know, move on to another one! Be there for her and tell her to not give up hope, shell find out whats wrong its just hell waiting!

She's probably got period problems albeit ones that plague her every three months instead of every one - she probably needs a good rogering by a strong man - her body's probably not getting enough nookie - that's why we're here you know?!!!

as long as people are just throwing out guesses, I'd say bulimia. Is she a teen? under stress? As her if she's doing it to herself.
