my mom dosen't let me shave my legs!! help!?

i'm 13 and my mom won't let me shave! it's so embarassing, and all the kids see that I have hairy legs during gym. i already asked her once. i just said, " mom, can i shave my legs?" and she just said flat out no. (and then she asked me if I was crazy.) She said that people in our culture don't shave their legs, but then she shaves hers. what do I do????

i forgot. i shaved behind my mom's back once, but then i figured out if she caught me, i'd be in a lot of trouble. so shaving behind her back = kinda out of the question.

I don't know why she won't let you. Your old enough now and I bet it is embarrising. If she said that your culture doesn't shave her legs, but she shaves her's, that doesn't make sense. I think I started shaving my legs when I was 11 and my mom answered right away "yes, if thats what you really want to do." It was a big mistake, because I was too young and it grew back fast, thick, and really black. Maybe you could try something better like Nair or Veet.= ]♥
Ask your mommy. If you want to just shave your legs really badly, then do it when she doesn't know and she'll have to get over it.

Don't shave!!! It's a pain in the neck in the summer time or if you like to wear skirts.

Before you shave your legs the first time, the hair is usually not so thick or coarse. It's usually softer and sparser. Once you shave it - it will keep coming back coarse & ugly and then you will HAVE to shave it - twice or 3 times per week, depending on how fast your hair grows.

And in between you'll have stubble and you will have to wear pants on those days. And if you wear tights or stockings underneath the pants it could be uncomfortable.

Well, awkward wut she told u bout the culture thing, but really that was an excuse she had come up real fast and didn't think about. . I'm 12 and started shaving at the begging og Aug. 2007, yea I wuz still 12. But who cares. All u gotta do is sneak and use HER shaver. Much ♥, ♥TT

Also I went to Walmart and saw a bottle that said shaving something. U spray the foam on your legs theb take a shower n it comes off. Byeeeeee

wow i feel sorry for u im aloud to shave but cant wear make up or sraighten my hair, i thought i was misrable! do it behind her back wear long jeans when u leave and when u get to school switch to shorts it s the only way. or u could ask her why she shaves and u dont. its unfair! and im 13 too almost 14

Her answers don't make sense.....she is contradicting herself with her own actions. You might want to talk to someone about her......something might be wrong.

There are some lotions that reduce the amount of hair on legs....the one I've got is: Jergens Naturally Smooth (shave minimizing moisturizer)....it really does help, at least it has for me.

Lucky for you, winter is coming up. So everyday outfits will become more like pants and capris (unless you live somewhere warm all year long). But during gym, I would wear leggings under your gym shorts. They are in style, and will cover up your legs. And then sit your mom down, and explain to her your embarressment, and maybe she will reconsider!

ask your mom if women in your culture dont shave their leggs then why does she shave hers

if i were you i would take a razor to school and do it in a bathroom stall with just some water. If its really that bad then i think its worth a punishment.
