I'm having trouble finding a good site with which to research the painting, and I was wondering if anyone knew about the painting?

They made what sold. And obviously he got a goldmine as it still sells.

They are called putti and are found in many, many paintings in that school. Adding 'secular' items was a way of bringing them closer to earth.

They represent nothing special. They just make a painting look more...ethereal you may say.
