Most paint ball guns won't shoot any faster than 325ft per second and thats not fast enough to do much damage just bruises. A bb gun begins in the neihborhood of 300 ft per second. An adult bb gun can shoot from 400 to 1000 ft per second and can be used to hunt and are potentially deadly. So I would say that a bb gun is clearly the winner.

I think it would depend on where the person was shot with each one. A paint ball is designed to explode on impact with the proper amount of force but if that force were on the windpipe or possibly the heart it is possible for it to be lethal. A b-b is a small projectile that will break the skin and penetrate the body. The amount of force is not as significant as other guns (rifle, shotgun). A b-b can penetrate through the eye socket and into the brain causing death. It could also enter the blood stream and cause a stroke.
However, you can win the argument easily because a shotgun shoots b-bs and is much more lethal than any paintball gun.

After being shot with a dinky BB pistol that cant kill a frog and having it break skin and bleed, im saying BB gun. Paintballs dont have the solid outsidfe layer to do damage, gthey just break and leave welts. Now, my dad was shot with a BB gun that shoots as fast as every paintball gun and then some and the bb went under the skin in his left arm. He never got it taken out and you can feel it if you touch where it is.

As kids we used to shoot each other with both bbs and paint balls and no one ever lost an eye.I'd say a paint ball hits harder but you don't have to pick it out of your skin like a bb.It depends on how fast the paint ball is going that also goes for the bb to.

paintball gun may put an eye out but wont kill you if it would i should have been dead long ago.. some bb guns can actualy kill a person if the shot is placed right so im going with the bb gun. provided your not talking about airsoft bb's then paintballs do more damage, airsoft rarely leaves welts, were paintballs leave welts bruises and occasionaly blood.
boker is saw your answer. and we tried to use 1/2 sheet rock for bunkers,, shot right through with tippmann and spyders. and i can prove that. also very hard on vinyl siding.. my poor shed lol

Your brother owes you 5 bucks. There's high end BB guns that you can go small game hunting with, NO ONE hunts with a paint ball gun. Show me a paint ball gun that can shoot thru a 1/2" sheet rock, you can't. I can show you several BB guns that can shoot thru 1/2" sheet rock tho.

Listen to broker.
Definitely the BB gun. With the modern technology used in some models they can be quite deadly at close range.
Not trying to “preach” but all types of guns need to be treated with caution.

I was only shot by bb guns
if it hits your eye you might get blind I think
an old low power bb gun hardly leaves a mark, like a mosquito bite maybe, a high power one will put the bb 1/4 inch in you
