You must be thorough in your asking. I think it helps people to think about the question before they ask it. Take the time to check your work before you submit it. It is professional (don't worry, I still think you are cool my friend!) no worries mate

You can explain any changes you wish to make such as typos under "Additional Details". People do it all the time. As §☺ĻĻŷ said, changing the question itself would make people's answers irrelevant (not that most aren't anyhow). Even editing an answer after someone has given it a thumb up or down can affect the thumb's appropriateness. Who are we mindless schmoes to question the infinite wisdom of Yahooo? Also, as r-man stated, what is this question doing in this category? There is a category just for questions about Yahoo.

Not really fair, but I think I know why, so you can't change a question after it is asked...you know how people are, if they could do that, they would make their question that used to be 'Why is the sky blue?' into something totally different, and that would not be fair to answerers...I am just really careful about typos now, so I don't look like a texting freak from cell-phone land.

You are given a chance to edit it before posting. Including a spell check.

I think they did that so you can't change what your question says after people have begun answering. (To make it look like their answers fit a different question.) Like I'd be ticked off if someone asked "Are you an atheist?", and I responded "Yes", and then they changed the question to read "Do you atheists admit that you just don't want to have someone to answer to?"

I guess there are reasons having to do with fighting trolls. But you can add an edit, like "oops, I meant meditation, not medication."

yes, it is fair - there are no second chances for atheists. j/k

I use Firefox with US Dictionary add-in. Helps a lot.

Alternative is to use MS Word.

Yes, it is. If you change the question after you post it, the people who read your original question will have responded to something different when you are done.

Well, if you know the rules, then yes - it encourages people to write more carefully.

It also helps keep answerers from looking stupid because the asker changed the question.
