Of course not - exploring your spirituality is fine at any age, it certainly doesn't make you a bad person. And I'm sure that everyone questions their religion from time to time, especially people who were raised in a certain religion, rather than choosing it themselves as an adult.

There are many religions that believe that there is more than one god - these are called polytheistic and Hinduism is a fine example of that.

Maybe you could ask your vicar about your doubts? Or you could go to the library and read about some other religions and what they believe. It doesn't mean you have to give up your Christianity of course, it's just asking some of the deep philosophical questions - good for you, I say. Some people go their whole lives never wondering about such things!

You've been brainwashed your whole life so asking any question that doubt your religious beliefs is a good thing. Soon you will come to realise that there is no God. And you will realise you have been a bit of a buffoon for the past 37 years of your life, still, better late than never.

There is only one God, but many gods. Whatever people put in the centre of their lives can become the thing they worship.

At the basic level, there is only one God because God says there is only one God, and God cannot lie.
People may believe they are worshipping the right one, but we can't all be right. Satan is a great deceiver who comes disguised as an angel of light.

I know of this fantastic testimony by a chap called Ian McCormack, who was stung by very dangerous jellyfish and died but had an amazing experience of God. At first He wasn't sure which God because he wasn't a Christian, but his mum was, and he met her God and realised the truth.

God exists only in the mind of people, you can make as many
as Gods you want like Hindus or you can do with one.The
real fact is God does not exists.God is there to frighten and
control people.I am ex God believer and i am much better
then before, because i am not scared of God which does not
exists.

There is only one God, the Father, whom we worship and have to do. However, there is ample scriptural evidence that there are more than one.

Let US make man in OUR image.

and
John 10
31 Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him.
32 Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me?
33 The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.
34 Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?

(that law Jesus quote is the old testament Psalms 82:6) and in the original greek there are no differences in capitialization.
Interesting that not only does Christ not deny claiming to be a God (like his Father), but he quotes a scripture saying "ye are gods". Also, why else would the scriptures talk about "the most High God", is this to differentiate him from the other High Gods or from the other Gods? Wouldn't he just say the God?

Hi David!

I am happy you are questioning things!

You notice that the christians/muslims can only tell you:
'Because it says so in the bible or qur'an'?

You have mentioned that 'why shouldn't there be more than one' ...god?

There used to be many, believed for thousands upon thousands of years.

It was believed by Akenaton of Egypt, a Pharaoh who cast aside all the other gods, in favour of one Omnipotent, all seeing creator.

This happened just before the exodus of the later to become jews, after they had lived in Egypt for over 400 years!!

In Israel, after the exodus, they firstly, still believed in one god and his female companion, but it seems later, they narrowed it down to one!
Findings in Israel confirm all this!

In the old testament it is filled with 'anomalies' regarding this matter:

'Let us'?? .....
Thou shalt not worship any 'other' god, but me'??
'Let 'us' make man in 'our' image'??

The fact of the belief in only one god, is just that, a 'belief', there are no facts or proof, other than the words of earlier men!

NO PROOF! ... NO FACTS!

There is NO proof for the existence of a god or gods!!

Man made god, in his own image!!

the problem is that you think that asking if there are more than 1 god may be a "terrible"question.
Thatis what religion does to people, it creates a feeling of tension, fear...they cannot doubt about it or a thunder will fall on their heads...
i dont think this is a terrible question and i dont think that anything that causes anyone to fear it ,is a good thing

Well as far as I know about your question, why one? Why not more then one?

Let Al-Qur'aan answer your question.....

[21:22] If there were in them (the heavens and the earth) other gods beside GOD, there would have been chaos. Glory be to GOD; the Lord with absolute authority. He is high above their claims.

Who soever says there are more then one gods, I'll ask him or them.....

[21:24] Have they found other gods beside Him? Say, "Show me your proof. This is the message to my generation, consummating all previous messages." Indeed, most of them do not recognize the truth; this is why they are so hostile.

[21:25] We did not send any messenger before you except with the inspiration: "There is no god except Me; you shall worship Me alone."

If you want know more you can contact me.

God bless all

Or none.

Asking questions about things is the beginning of wisdom. Not taking answers at face value is the next step.
