Love it, love it, love it! You go girl! I love these new ideas with weddings. I get so tired of the old traditional ways. Be different, be bold and love it!
Congrats!

I think that would look so pretty. Those 4 pastel colors go together so well. Don't worry about what other people are saying about the vests matching the bridesmaids' dresses. That would look very nice and unique, especially since they're pale pastel colors. You could have their bouquets made using flowers in all 4 colors and your bouquet could be mostly white or cream with the 4 pastel colors added to it.
I think you've come up with a great color scheme for your wedding. Not cheesy at all. Best wishes to you.

That would look so great. I went to a wedding with the same concept but instead of pastel colors the bridesmaids wore bright colors. One thing I would change would be the matching vests on the groomsmen, it would look so much better if they wore one color.

I've seen this done with three bridesmaids, and it looked very pretty - but they didn't have the groomsmen match, they were just generically coloured.
I LOVE the idea, and think it's very special!
For our wedding, the women wore the same dress, but it was a print on white, of small watercoloured-like flowers in pink, lilac, yellow and light teal. So each couple had a different accent colour - for example, the pink couple - she wore a wreath of pink flowers in her hair and had pink ribbons trailing from her bouquet. Her corresponding groomsman wore a pink bowtie and cummerbund.
It all looked really beautiful, coordinated, and it was fun to decorate with all these colours for a July wedding!
So go for it, and have FUN!

It would be pretty IF the colors of the dresses were professionally matched to the bridesmaids complexions. I know, for example, that when I wear green, it makes me look jaundiced and when I wear orange, it makes me look like I need to throw up.
If you have a couple of brunettes, put them in the purple and pink. If you have a redhead, put her in the green, and if you have a blond, put her in the blue. It would be a good idea to make sure that the groomsmen were well-matched, complexionwise to the brides maids, they could always switch off after the ceremony if they wanted to.
The most important thing to know about getting married tho, is this:
The person who is RIGHT always is the first to apologize. It's easy to be gracious when you're right, not so easy when you're wrong. I've been with the same man for almost 20 years. I learned this bit of info from my Dad, who was married to the same woman for almost 60 years. He ALWAYS apologized first, because he was always right.
Best wishes for a long and happy union.

I think it could be pretty and unique. It could also be cheesy, depending on the syle and colors you choose.
The colors should be complimentary to each other and be in the same tone; all colors pastel as you suggested or rich gemstone colors etc. Be careful of the pastels because they (especially blue, yellow and pink) are identified with babies.
Another idea would be to have the exact same color but in light, medium, and dark tones -- each dress just one shade or tone darker/lighter.

Traditionally bridesmaid dresses are all the same color and style, except for a slight veriation in the maid of honors dress to tell her apart from the others. Do what you want with your bridesmaids dresses, but do keep in mind that if they do not work in with the color scheme of you wedding the will look very very tacky.

Actually, I just saw this done at my friend's wedding. Only the colors were bold- bright yellow, pink, blue, orange... and it did look neat.... however, I'm not a fan of pastel colors, so not sure if I'd like it. With my friend's - the groomsmen matched the girl they walked down with, so it was cool.

It might be pretty but you are forgetting the reason why the tradition of them all wearing the same color was started. It was so that they all looked alike and didn't distract from the bride. In a photograph of you and the bridesmaids or the couple and the entire wedding party, the splash of color beside you will distract from the focus of the photo. . . you.

I've seen photos of weddings in which the bridesmaid wore different colors of the same dress. It looks nice. If you want that then go for it!

I had a friend who did this for her wedding and it looked fantastic. It could be in your wedding theme. I.e. have the flowers in all different colours or you could be wearing the white traditional gown with your flowers having a colour each of the bridesmaids dress. This wouldnt like cheesy it would look very pretty and different. If its what you like go for it its your day!!
