...and I had a JW lady at my door today with "The Watchtower."
This is probably not a record, but can anyone do better? What's the fastest evangelising welcome anyone's had?

I would have invited her in, but I was in the middle of arranging some building work. She's coming back later.

OK, not to hijack your question, but...

As an EX-JW I can tell you more than the answer to your question...

It was pure chance that she got to you that fast. Either she was "working" your street as part of a "territory," or she was coming back to your house because no one answered the first time she came by. The witnesses are very methodical about trying to get to every house.

Before she comes back, if you really intend to invite her in to talk to you, you should look at the web sites below for some perspective.

Their "official" website is www.watchtower.org to get their perspective. There's even a handy online Bible in their "New World Translation."

The sites I list below are maintained by people who either used to be members and quit because of principle, or who are still members but have to remain anonymous while trying to effect change from the inside.

I was a JW for 35 years. I was aghast after finally seeing and carefully researching the things I found on these websites. I used my own personal library of JW publications going back more than 50 years to verify that the things I was seeing are true.

I'm giving you this information to protect you. From your questions and answers, I can see that you are a kind, caring and objective person. That's exactly the kind of person who can get roped into the witness structure without realizing that mind control techniques are in play.

These people are enmired in their own constantly-morphing eschatology with Millerite origins. They are masters of eisegesis.

When the nice lady comes back, give her a cup of tea. She will appreciate it.

How nice you are to have invited her back. 5 days in a new house is pretty quick to get a visit. Your attitude is refeshing.
If you are this nice, word will get around and you'll have everyone knocking on your door. You know, you probably made her day.
I'm a Catholic, but I don't know where you live, so, you won't be seeing me.
Good for you!
C. :)!!

Well it wasn't very long before I was in my house when someone came by, though not to evangelize, it was 2 girls wanting me to give them money so they could go to France, for shopping.

Honestly, this is one reason why we call back. People move, it was probably just a fluke. I hope things go well and you can move in safely.

You should put a smurf out to welcome her. JWs love smurfs.
