Dear MamaK,
I work with dermatologists, medi spas and plastic surgeons all over the Midwest, and i would disagree with most of the other suggestions that you have received. Neutrogena has been around since the 50's and when I was 20 and had bad acne it never helped. Science is find new ways of clearing, repairing and renewing skin and companies that are still producing the same old same old are just not keeping up.
Proactive will damage you skin with long term use, because they use a unstable, non-time released form of benzoyl peroxide. I have seen it happen to a lot of people. Please don't ever use that.
I have a couple of products that I am thinking might help but need to know a couple more things before I make any recommendations. How old are you? Do you have dry, oil, or other skin problems? What are your habits regarding sun, smoking, and eating healthy?
If you want some free advice, let me know.

You should probably try different ones. I've had many. Some could make your face break out or some wont work at all. I have two that I use, I use St. Aves Apricot Scrub Renew & Firm in the shower and I use Tree Hut Foaming Face Wash Brazilian Nut for the days I dont take a shower. I wash my face every night. You can just get a nice face wash and then get the pads for Black heads. Rinse your face with warm water to open your pores and apply the soup and then rinse with cooler water to close the pores.

I had acne for over 1 year and I hated it. It brougth my confidence down for a lond time. I tried AcneFree, and it worked!! My mom and the lady at the store said that t had to be the remake of ProActive (they have to have a mre afforadble product) and I believe it is. I use the orange package called 'severe acne' after not using it for a while, my acne is coming back so I've started using it again.
I also use:
*Neosporin for scabs
*Visine red eye drops for redness
*Ice to bring down swelling
*Oil obsobring sheets
& Potatoe slices. They work great! They seem to bring down redness & swelling. My friend they worked for her too

you should try using the clean n' clear face wash and toner,
but for a bit less you should try the AVON face wash and the toner afterwards, and they have selections availabe for different skin types.
*if you got the cash, try clinique pore minimizer its like $13. for the little tube, and it is soooo worth the money, and it leaves your skin smooth.

Clinique has some pretty good cleansers / soap bars that help eliminate black heads
Neutragena also has a line of cleansers that help remove black heads and clear your pores. check your local target.
