Wow. What class is that for?
I think that's one most of us can't help you with. It's pretty personal, isn't it?
For me, God is truly the Father. When I am weak, I imagine myself tiny and insignificant in His eyes, and yet He still cares for me. He's like the wind, you can't see Him, but He you can feel Him around everything and everyone you see. You see His effects, but not His Presence...
Wow. I think I'd have to write a book to explain that one! Good luck!

A myth that developed from the anthropomorphic creations of man to explain the unknown and things he did not understand.
Man first created spirits to explain why grass whispers, trees groan and streams babble.
These developed into greater gods to explain how the sun rose and moved, how the seasons changed, how the storms happened, etc.
Priests then started exploiting these beliefs implying that they could change these events. If correctly spun this is a win-win for the priests - if they do not appear to calm the storm, then the gods were really angry at the people and the people need to give more food and money to the priests to help appease the gods. If they do appear to calm the storm, then they take the credit, so the people better give them more food and money to make sure it does not happen again.
More 'successful' gods tend to replace less 'successful' gods and so there is a trend to fewer gods. Also any exclusive god, with a better heaven and a worse hell tends to gain believers on the basis of Pascal's Wager.
Successful societies impose their gods on less successful societies, further reducing the number of active gods.

God.....expansive, unable to be contained within the framework of ANY religion. The Creator, both male/female energy, which produces creation, but is composed of emotion, intelligence, and understands the WHY?.
God.....not about worship, but about relationship.
God.....not about judgement, but about compassion.

I understand God to be the Creator, both of the Universe we know and see, as well as any others that may exist, and all things living and non-living that fill them.
