Christ says in the book of Matthew that "we must not store up on earth, but store up ourselves treasures in heaven". How do we do that?

Some responses have been about investing in eternal and perfect things. What are perfect and eternal things???

The things you put your hands to, have them be the things of God, not the things of the world. Don't think striving to acquire that new car, vacation, great looking boy/girl friend, job, bank account, is going to make any difference.

Put your time and effort into showing others mercy, forgiveness, compassion, kindness, love. Work towards the things of His kingdom, not the things of this world.

That is "storing up treasure" in heaven.

Jesus urges us to invest in what is lasting, eternal, and ultimately perfect. If we do, nothing can destroy and nothing can steal our blessed assurance that we will be victorious in Jesus.

Matthew 6:21For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
