im from america and i hear that in european countries like holland, some showers in the hotels are just one big open room with shower heads and guys and girls shower in the same room naked. is this true? like in holland? and is it no big deal?

its possible and some lands do huge bathtubs too with the wholed family bathing together...ugh...

It exists in some places though not as much anymore. When I was in Sweden it was that way, but we were staying in hostils ands chools and not hotels. I guess it depnds on the hotel you stay at. It's likely the more expensive and higher rated hotels have seperate showers. To them, it is no big deal at all. They actually thought we were stupid when we put on our bathing suits the first time.
Also, check for familiar hotels like Best Western. These exist all over the world and are sure to have "american" standards when it comes to stuff like that.

Why should it be a big deal. These guys and girls were not tortured and thrown to the lions, they are ENJOYING THEMSELVES. I wouldn't like it, but I might if I lost half a stone. You must need guts and a real belief in yourself to do that so they are to be admired and certainly couldn't give a cuss what Americans think. Sorry Maam, but I don't just mean Americans but anybody else who tries to impose their own morality on others. The point is at last - nobody has to do anything they don't want to do. I'm off to get rid of the last half stone myself.

Yes they do that sort of thing over there. Don't count on getting lucky or something when you're in the shower with some stranger. They frown on that.

I've never heard of that. Just make sure you book an en suite room, to be on the safe side.

The only place I can think of that have these are some public swimming baths. The idea is that you only rinse the chlorine off your skin so you don't actually take your swim suit off and scrub all over!!!

I think that someone is pulling your leg. In Amsterdam i've heard of golden showers if that helps
