From the way you worded your question, I don't know if you're talking about pictures of you, or pictures you take. I'm going to assume it's ones you take and maybe it'll help with the other too. I took an evening, adult education photography class more years ago than I care to admit. That is the first step to taking great pictures. Learn how to compose them first. There are so many "rules" it's been the subject for thousands of books. The one thing I remember most from that class is the instructors one main suggestion. Shoot lots of pictures. Digital photography makes this much more affordable than when I was shooting film. His logic for his suggestion was two fold. First, practice, the more you shoot, the better you'll get. Second, and I feel like this pertains to me more often, even the worst photographer will get a good shot once in a while. Nobody gets a great picture every time. I attended a wedding photography seminar a short time back and the presenters make in excess of twenty thousand dollars per shoot. Even they expect to delete aproximately 1/3 of their shots. Go shoot pictures, lots of them, and then let everyone think you're great by only showing them the great ones.

If you are talking about pictures OF you, then get a better photographer to take them. If you're talking about pictures snapped by photographers, well, no one takes a great one every time. You can greatly increase the odds of capturing a good image by preparation, which includes a lot of studying, learning and practice, decent equipment, and observation. f/8 and be there.

Exactly what are you wanting to take great photos of?

The most experienced professional photographer does not take a great photograph every time. They may come close but nobody gets 100% every time. Well maybe if they only take one photo lol!
