I have no desire to do that to your beliefs or non beliefs.
Some of you call us foolish and ignorant but it is
apparent you find us believers so fascinating and
irresistable because you keep looking at the Bible.

People love to laugh at people or things, beliefs they do not understand. Only fools mock other people's beliefs.

Ok? You are generalizing the people on here, so I'm going to generalize Christians in my response. I personally don't make fun of the bible, but when a Christian is talking to me and tries to convert me, I *will* point out why I think certain parts of the bible are ridiculous and in error. Your question implies that we come up to you and start making fun of your beliefs. That is not the case... we usually just retaliate after hours of badgering when we get sick of hearing we're going to hell. I hope you have a good day too! Blessings.

I find all the religions of the world fascinating. Mankind wraps itself in symbols and stories and myths -- to understand mankind, you must understand those symbols and stories and myths.
Understanding the symbol of Roger Rabbit and Jessica Rabbit in the context of the 80's helps one's understanding of the culture of mankind at the time -- but that didn't make the movie any less hilarious.

Can I ask you a personal question? How does it feel? Now you know how it feels when you Christians start pushing your beliefs on other people. It happened to me again just last night and I was literally told to go to hell for not converting. She tried for about 30 minutes.

Perhaps you should consider the sad fact that many of us know the bible better than most Christians do. We do so because of all the atrocities that have been comitted because "the bible told me so." Ignorance is dangerous.

I'm a Christian but I can see why. Even thought I believe, the Bible still leaves itself open to poking. Just don't lose the faith.

With all due respect, the book says that donkeys and snakes can talk.
Furthermore, MOST American Christians want to use that book as a reason to deny rights (marriage to homosexuals) or to otherwise control other American's conduct.
THAT is why it's important.

I read it to see what it says... I'm not afraid to question my Non-belief.
I honestly think that it is the biggest bunch of nonsense ever thought up.
I can't believe that anyone in the modern age takes this stuff seriously.
That's why I read the bible.

Having been forced to read the bible as a child brought up in a catholic family, I am now an atheist.
