Go CHEAP and STRONG - though it tastes like crap, Crest Beer is about $2.50 for a King Can (@ 10% alcohol).
Otherwise... Pick up a "26" of the cheapest vodka you can find - and drink it STRAIGHT ;););)

Cheaper wines will get you there if you like it... Also switching alcohols ususally makes it hit faster. If Its a date, You could start with a case of cheap beer in a drinking game, get hammered and then watch a movie with $3 bottles of wine...
You don't have to buy bad hard alcohol with $20 cuz it really doesn't get too far, you guys could have 5 bottles of cheaper wine- like Andres champagne, Beringer White Zin, or whatevs on sale at grocery store, or ALOT of Beer, or a big bottle of Smirnoff. Just limit your juices and sodas to cut down cost. Make sure you've got snacks too. Drunken munchies SUCK!

The most bang for your buck is always 40oz malt liquor like Colt 45 or Olde English. Especially in poor minority neighborhoods, where it usually costs $2 per bottle or less. 1 bottle will get most people very pleasantly buzzed. 2 will get the average person shitfaced. In your case, that'll only run you a total of 8 bucks. You can use the rest of your 20 bucks to get a bottle of Everclear or vodka if your guest desires shots or mixed drinks.

You can get 4 bottles for that price and it will hammer you!
Just beware of the hangover. NASTY!
If you want a clean buzz, you can by a cheap bottle of vodka and get wasted. Vodka doesn't give much of a hangover.

I wouldn't even suggest Mad Dog 20/20 to my worst enemy. That stuff is vile!
If a bottle of Wild Turkey split between the two of you doesn't get ya'll shitfaced then you got problems!

hard alcohol, and maybe some juice or any other type of liquid to mix with. if you buy beer it would be to expensive unless they were light weights.
