What convinced you? When you sat down and examined the scriptures and thought through the tenets of Christianity, what made you say "Yes, this makes sense. This is a belief system I can follow"? If you had to back up your faith, what would you list as your "proofs."
Feel free to adapt this question to other faiths.

I didn't expect this to be such a difficult question. Surely everyone of faith has thought this through already. Why so few answers?
Hmmm

I met them.
I know it sounds odd. Sometimes I giggle when I say it. But it's true in my case.
To me it makes perfect sense, but I understand that it doesn't to everyone and I'm not offended. Not everyoe hears the gods call them and that's just fine too. I know for a fact I can't prove a lick of it and to be honest I have no desire to. I agree with the tenants, I love the people, and I feel at peace. It doesn't hurt anyone. I don't want it in the laws or in the schools. I'm totally ok with it being for me and mine. *shrug*

I always believed in God, I used to pray every night as a kid about the this thing I was afford of not to happen. Then I prayed in the day once for something not to happen, and it didn't, and all my prayers have been answered, it's true honestly. But I can't imagine a world without Something out side the universe, something beyond life, I cannot make sense of that in my mind, There must be God outside there. And as a scientist student, I can't imagine ther being absolutely nothing and then suddenly the Big Bang, it must have been started by something. Even if it happened in the Multi verse, there must be God outside the Omniverse.
I'd also like to say how nice your question seemed, not as angry as the usual questions in this genre. I hope everyone gave a response in the same vain

I've always leaned towards speculation of the existence of an ultimate Source of creation. Science gives evidence for this in that 1) astronomy shows the universe has a finite age, and 2) all known entities in nature require causation.
This leaning became absolute belief during a personal revellation while in an entheogenic breakthrough experience.

My faith is in the paradox itself. Not be attached to one's beliefs like so many are.
It made sense because everything I logically deduced was the same OTHERS had and it really isn't main stream thought. It was reassuring to understand that Buddhism existed.
Oddly enough, when I argued religions, in general, I was always sure to, for some unknown reason, not include Buddhism in those generalizations. Turns out, many years later, I was a buddhist

The complexity of everything that lives. The complexity of everything that doesn't live, gravity, planetary motion, eyeballs, love, etc. The fact that I don't believe anything I see, hear or touch can possibly have happened by accident...That was the beginning of belief. Then I felt the tug on my heart to seek out the true God. I found Him in Christ. I hope with all my heart that everyone at least seeks, and I also pray that they find Christ as I did.

You can easily remember the types of evidence by using the word "maps".
M: Maunuscript evidence. The Bible we have today is the most accurate(true to the original) of all antique documents on Earth.
A: Archeological evidence. With every turn of the archeologists spade we uncover additional proof of Bible accuracy.
P: Prophecy (fulfilled)
S: Statistical impossibility of the above yet they do exist.
Above is just a minute scratching of the surface, but you get the idea...

ohhh I havent answered this question in ages
* digging out my old copy pasted answer from last time *
i believe in god
i am a spiritualist medium who communicates with spirit
these spirit are validated and proven .. through descriptions names dates etc given ..
through these validated spirit i am also able to speak with my spirit guides ..
i have also read and been taught spirit teachings through other spirit guides ...
to have all this validated and proven leaves me no doubt that spirit live on
now ...to the god question
spirit speak of god ... they speak of spirit realms ..the spirit teachings speak of god ...
so if i was to disbelieve there is a god i am disbelieving the spirit teachings and ultimately spirit itself .. which means i am disbelieving myself
so it goes hand in hand for me .. i have proof of spirit who speak of god .. so logically for me anyway .. god exists
this is the best way i can explain it and i accept not many will understand .. but i hope it helps explain why " I " believe in god
edit
hey fuzzy you didnt confuse me sweetie !
