you got it on the additional. Cubed beef is best at being shreded. Cook it in water, let it boil for about three hours in low heat. Then you let it cool off then shred.

The easiest beef to use, with the longest stands, would be flank or brisket. Flank is the more expensive cut, and is often used for making fajitas. And brisket is less expensive, but generally has more fat!

Skirt.!!!!
I first boil it with onions, garlic, some green pepper, half tomatoes and some cilantro. Then the water were this meat was cooked is great for broth!!! you can add some vegetables and enjoy a nice soup with parmesan cheese or just add to the broth some ravioli and a little bit of red wine and have it.
The meat after cooking it is tender and soft to shredded.
We have a South American dish in wich we make a sofrito,
garlic, onions, peppers, tomatoes, cumin, a little oregano we fried all this with olive oil , add the shredded meat and then add some of the broth and cook for a little while. We serve it with white rice, black beans and fried platains.

I use a boneless chuck roast and cook the heck out of it. Ten hours in a slow cooker or 3-4 hours in the oven. Long enough that it pulls apart easily with forks.

An Eye Round Roast or Round Roast. Cook it in a crock pot for a day with gravy and root vegtables. Very Easy.

I like to use a roast. Any roast will do but i prefer a sirloin roast. Place in a crockpot and cook all day on low. when you are ready for shredded beef sandwiches shred it and season to taste
