Teresa correct. Dark Rum more brown. I not sure there is a noticeable taste difference, never compared the two side by side. But, I love Rum Cakes.

There is white rum, light rum, dark rum
More brown sugar or molasses, the fermentation time and the type of oak used for the barrels is the key.

Light rum is run that has not been aged.
Dark rum is rum that has been aged.
