The Songs of Solomon is my favorite book in the King James Bible!
I Think ALL four Gospels should be read in order to get a better picture of Jesus' life.

I love the Gospels of John, wow the "Other disciple that Jesus Loved"
I love it when Jesus turns to Simon Peter and answers his question about how long John will live, Jesus answers if I choose to allow him to live until I return what business is it of yours.
And than when John was boiled in Oil, the rumors of John's immortality granted to him by Jesus had traveled throughout the land and than when they boiled him, John raised his hands in praise. Praising God, the oil was so hot that the surroundings caught fire, and John continued to praise the Lord God. This perpetuated the belief that John was immortal, the crowd that was condemning John and screaming for his death, were now singing the praises of Jesus. Cheering John.....wow the Lord uses us in such wonderful ways, bringing us through adversity to further his kingdom. I wonder how many souls were saved that glorious day.
John...
Praise be God, for he alone deserves the glory.

They are all favorites depending on what you are looking for. Each gives a different perspective on the life of Christ. Matthew presents Him as the King of the Jews and deals with the Kingdom. Mark presents Him as the Son of Man and deals with His humanity. Luke presents Himn as a servant and shows us how to live and serve others. John as the Son of God and shows us salvation.

That's a tough choice. I like the beginning of Luke. Mark is just a thinned out Matthew for my money. John is very sacramental, so I like him.
Oh heck, I like'em all.

I can't really choose because they generally give the same accounts. In studying, I like to compare those books to see which one gives the most detail on a particular event. But, I guess if I had to choose, I'd say Matthew. It's a little more detailed than the rest in my opinion.

I love the Gospel of John. I love it because of the poignant human Jesus who cries with Mary and Martha at Lazarus' tomb. I love it because of the elaborate portrayal of the last supper and the dialogue that follows. I love it because of the description of Mary Magdalene weeping at the tomb, and Jesus saying to her, "Woman, why are you crying?" I love it because of the way Jesus treats the Samaritan woman at the well in Sychar.
It is a compassionate gospel, full of hope. I love it.

John. I love the book of John because it is mostly based upon the love of Jesus. Well, all the books do but, John loved Jesus so much that it was incredible. And I also like it because when you read it...it actually feels like you are right there witnessing it. When I read the book of John, you experience how much Jesus loved his disciples, Israel, and us. John 10 is one of my favorites because it talks about how Jesus is the door to life, and the door to salvation. It talks about that he is our Sheperd and we are his sheep. Sometimes we go astray but Jesus is there to guide us every second of the day. I also like John 19, not because He died and the suffering He went through, but how He loved us so much that He died for us. I mean, today you rarely think of a person dying for another...but, Jesus died for US and our sins so that we could be in Heaven with Him.
I like Revelation too. It talks about when we are going to heaven with Jesus and what will happen to those who made fun of Christians...not that I want that to happen but, they do deserve it. I probably like Revelation because John wrote it. He is a very good writer.
I love the whole Bible dearly but, those are my favorite.
:)

Mark.
Short, Action Orientated, and Throughout people are asking, "Who is this man?" Great for discovering the identity of Jesus.
And many scholars believe it was the 1st gospel to be written.

John -- Unlike the others, it at least attempts to document miracles that only the Messiah could do. The fact that Jesus performs none of the important ones aside, at least...
