I believe that some medicines were inspired by God to help man and to alleviate pain. Other drugs were inspired by Lucifer to be counterfeit sources of pleasure or a sense of well being. Satan is the master deceiver and he uses drugs as well as any other weapon to deceive us away from truth. Medicines, when used right can be a great blessing. When used wrong, they become a great curse.
You decided which is which. It is not hard.

Nature gave marijuana for anti-cancer treatment, extreme nausea, pain relief and treatment for insomnia, epilepsy, hepatitis and other diseases. Man decided to turn it into a recreational drug that was 'good' while two glasses of wine at dinner became 'bad', along with steak, fish, milk, cheese, eggs, fat, bread, chocolate and other foods.
Codeine is a derivative from morphine based on opium which exists to relieve stress, physical pain and trauma so that one can sleep peacefully or else, to relieve the pain of the flu, bronchitis or a severe cold. It is not supposed to be used as a recreational drug but because of heroin addiction, it is used to treat withdrawal. Mind you, it is more innocent to get addicted to pain killers, anti-depressants, marijuana and prescription drugs than heroin.

Drugs are powerful chemicals. Opium, for example, is the most powerful pain-killer. So opium can be beneficial for mankind. Drugs are bad only if they are abused.
Nothing is absolutely evil. There is no need to blame others for our own weakness.

For the most part, neither. Drugs are highly derived forms of plant toxins and chemicals. People make them.
There's no such thing as a crack pipe tree.

Saying the creator (whoever that might be) didn't want us to do drugs is like saying he made a mistake creating marijuana and such.
