What is the best time to get a male kitten fixxed?

my kitten is 5 months and i thought that was a good time to get him fixxed two vets told me it was ok but they were alot of money but the best when i found for my price range said 7 months

5 months is rather early. 7 months is perfect, don't worry. They will not start spraying etc. until 10 months old.

Different vets will tell you different things. A lot of times it depends on the kitten's size, not age; if he is very small for his age, they will wait to neuter because of the risk of giving him too much anesthesia. You might call your local Humane Society or SPCA; sometimes they have low cost spay/neuter events that you could bring him to.

its best to do it before 7 months because you dont want him to start spraying, roaming, ect... keep checking different vets and see what they can do. also your local animal shelter should be able to help you find a low cost spay neuter clinic near by! thanks for being responsible and getting him fixed! but he is at the perfect age!
