I am creating an NHS leaflet regarding MRSA on neonatal wards. I would like you to tell me any questions parents of neonatal unit babies with MRSA might have so that i can answer them in the leaflet. I have several already including:
'what is MRSA',
'how does it spread',
'is is dangerous',
'what is the treatment',
'are there any long term effects',
'can i hold/visit my baby'

I would greatly appreciate any feedback.

Thanks

Phil

Hi Phil,

Thank you so much for working on this project. People need to know about MRSA so we can put a stopper on its fatality. God Bless you!

I think micksmixxx's question "Are there long-term effects/concerns that we should know about?" is crucial.

Another important one would be, "Could we lose our newborn to MRSA?" and "How do we make a difference against MRSA?"

Hope this helps and again, God Bless you!

Hi Phil,

That sounds like a very worthwhile project you're working on.

I realise that someone has given the first response, by jeanimus, a thumbs down, but that would also be my first question, "How did my baby get this?" Other questions I think that parents would like to know answers to are: Does s/he still have the infection? How long before it clears up? What precautions must visitors to the hospital take? (I've been an inpatient myself on wards that have had an MRSA 'crisis' where everyone has been requested to wash hands, etc. but one of the biggest failings, in my humble opinion, is doctors visiting the wards, and nursing staff on the ward itself, flagrently disregarding this request.); Are there any special things/routines that we should follow once baby comes home? Are there long-term effects/concerns that we should know about?

Best of luck, sir.

Hai Phil,
Superb work you are doing. Keep it up.
Other question you may include,
1.What precaution should I need to take as parents/visitor while visiting my baby?
2. Why isolation is important?
Hope, this may give you some clues.
You may also include dos` and donts` at last.

My first questions would be
How the f**k did my child get it?
Why dont you pay your cleaners a bit more so they can do a proper job?
