Since the day Vista was released I have been raving about how good it is.
However I am not so sure now, with update issues, security issues, incompatability issues starting to creep back in, it almost seems with the updates that are coming out, things are getting worse rather than improving.
I was so hacked off with Vista the other evening, I decided to hook out one of my spare PC's and install XP Pro.
One of the reasons why I initially went across to Vista, was that I was bored stiff with the XP user interface.
So once XP was installed along with my prefered software I set about looking for an alternative skin.
I found precisely what I was looking for with comparative ease and now XP looks awesome.
So suddenly Ive found I am enjoying using XP again, more than I have in a long time.
Summary.
Vista looks cool, but you shouldnt go on looks alone, I am starting to have my doubts, although I must admit I feel a little stupid as for the last 3 months, on Yahoo Answers, ive been pumping everbody with how awesome Vista is.
Now that Ive got XP looking great im starting to get a bit pissed that I bought Vista at all.
XP will do anything, apart from make the tea. Its stable, oh and the updates improve performance, unlike Vista.
Stay with XP, for the time being anyway.

NO!
I would rather go back to XP
although there may be a few things that I like as in the searches, the rest of it is horrible, there are so many compatibility issues that it drives me crazy
not only does it not work properly with IE
it freezes up constantly and makes other programs not respond. I am honestly considering taking it off and loading Xp I really dislike vista

I have Vista now, but liked XP better--when Vista comes out with a service pack it could help a lot, until then stay with your XP--save your money.

I would say that its more secure than windows xp but other than than that I would stick with windows xp because of software availability. It is a memory hog. Thats my own personal opinion so I removed it from my new computer and put xp on it....

it will really depend on WHO you talk or listen to.
I have been a computer user / trainer and developer since 1980--- i have been using Vista since May and have had no problems....in fact, i like some of the new features.
i think people who are having problems, do not meet the min system requirements ---and therefore have ongoing problems...
OR
they just cannot get past the changes in Vista.
Is it better than XP? I think only time will tell...keep in mind it is fairly new.....but it def has the makings of being more powerful if used correctly.
(Just my opinion).
thanks :)

it is because of the fact that vista is the brand new type of software. It is a lot easier to find things but some things are a little tricky to use but of course it has a full step by step instruction manual if you dont know. It also has the new updated versions of MS word and MS Excel
