It is a scab. After popping a pimple really hard, the pus is forced out & then the pore starts to bleed.
You can use Neosporin or a blemish stick (e.g. Desert Essence) to help speed up the healing process.

This is a scar. Congratulations...you've over popped.
Another way you can get scarring from acne is if you don't pop it, believe it or not. (And yes it's true, it's just something that dermatologists DON'T want you to know so they can get more money from you). Next time use a hot washcloth to open up your pores so that when you do pop a pimple or blackhead, it will come out much easier and you won't be sitting there squeezing the life out of it. Be sure to wash your face after popping pimples, otherwise the bacteria will sit on top of your skin, eventually getting back in and you'll have more problems to worry about.
And if you don't believe that little tidbit about not popping...I'll tell you a little story. My uncle has never really popped a pimple in his life. And now at 52 years old his face is severely pitted because of this. So it's Okay to pop your pimples, you just need to know how to do it properly and when to stop. Properly would be to steam your face, or use a hot compress as I mentioned above. When to stop is after blood has come out, or if nothing comes out at all - this means it's not ready yet, or after a yellow crust/scab has formed because this is skin trying to heal. You pick at any scab on your body that has formed a crust or thin skin over it and you'll end up with a scar. You need to leave it alone. In the meantime, keep you face clean and free of make-up, and invest in an acne spot treatment. They cost less than $3 and you don't need insurance or a prescription for them. Clearsil makes a good one. Just apply it to clean skin on the spot you want and it will help clear up the spot, dry it out and help bring the bacteria to the surface so you can safely and easily pop it without any problems. It's what I do for the ocassional pimple I get and it works great!

Well, when nobody's looking, I sometimes kinda sneak my hands onto the Charmin and give a little squeeze. You know just to test whether or not this roll of charmin came out as soft as it should. QA purposes only, I assure you. Got to get my money's worth. What else do I like to squeeze? Every dime. My wife when I hug her. Our cute pet rabbit. Our daughter when she was younger.

DON'T. SQUEEZE.
You're just asking for a scar or infection. Instead of squeezing it, put a dab of honey on it and cover it with a bandage. Or put a dab of baking soda paste on it.
JUST DON'T SQUEEZE!
But for the time being, put neosporin on it to help it heal.
