I mean no offense to anybody. If somebody is getting irritated by what I asked, it is because they know there is something wrong in their beliefs and ideology. It is a simple question, answer to the point please if you care.

malak, explain where do find the bashing?! Did I attack any specific religion or anybody by what I said?

William D, I didn't specify anything and didn't say who believed in science or who doesn't and didn't name anybody. It is only a mere simple question that came into my mind. Hope everybody answers the question and don't try to speculate my belief or my intentions. No hidden intentions are present.

In the absence of miracles, science reveals through the peer review method.

My father was a scientist. He was also a Christian. When asked how he could accept evolution as a fact, he'd give an amused look and say "the overwhelming evidence. Why can't you accept the fact that maybe God did it this way and it's up to us to explore it?"

When he wasn't working, he was too busy helping others without wearing his Christianity as a badge, just quietly doing what he thought was right.

He never evangelized to anyone, not even to me.

The whole point of science is to try to answer questions in the best way possible, by relying on evidence and removing bias as much as possible. Science explains more and more about the world every day, and never finds any evidence for the supernatural. Science does not disprove the supernatural (that would be impossible) but it calls into question the reasons people have for believing in the supernatural. So you can certainly maintain belief in science and God, as many people do, but it requires compartmentalization: avoiding the application of scientific thinking to that area of your life.

1) Question:
"God is all miracles."
"Science Discards miracles."

1) Answer:
God is capable of manipulating the natural world because
He created it - He manipulates it through miracles - indeed the universe IS a miracle in itself - the natural laws of the
universe are miracles - created by God and God's
imagination.
Science exists so we can learn about and explore the natural world God created for mankind (to protect what God has
given and to find ways to protect ourselves and make life
better).
Mankind manipulates nature in ways that are practical
for living (and hopefully not in immoral ways).
Mankind is not capable of doing "miracles" in the way that God does miracles, but is capable of doing some ingenious stuff - God supplies all the material and intelligence for the "miracles of science" that mankind does. They do
not compare to what God does and can do, though.

2) Q: God works in mysterious ways.
Science is definite and follows common ways.

2) A: God is much smarter and stronger than we are.
Science is constantly searching for answeres and to
understand the universe God created.
Religion studies the supernatural and topics of love,
morality, truth, wisdom, knowing God spiritually, etc.
(Science is about knowledge and what is "observable" fact only - it has it's own rules about what is observable too)

3) Q: Science depends on Logic.
God depends on supernatural powers.

3) A: Science attempts it's searching through
intellect - tries to improve in intelligence that it
can understand.
God knows a lot more and can give us better
wisdom and understanding than science can
give. We are not just mental/physical beings,
we are spiritual beings.
God does not "depend" on supernatural powers,
He IS supernatural - more real than the physical
"reality" - just like an artist is greater than his/her work of
art. The artist is real, the art is "artificial."

4) Q: God don't need a proof.
Science is all proof.

4) A: God is beyond scientific proof - science is not
capable of proving God because the world was created
by God - God is supernatural - meaning above and
beyond the natural!
Science can prove some things, but is limited to
the natural and we know so little of the entire universe
anyway: someone said "like spit in the ocean" - that is how
much we know compared with all that can be known
just with the natural world, let alone the supernatural.
We need to put things in perspective.

5) Q: God is one and only one and can't be reproduced.
Science is reproducable.

5) A: God lasts forever, science does not and is limited.
See question 4.

6) Q: God is invisible.
Science is all about experiments.

6) A: Science can only experiment with
the natural; spirituality has different methods
that are spiritual, not natural. Once again,
God is more real than our reality - we Can
"hear" God speak to our hearts.

7) Q: God can't be doubted and needs blind faith.
Science is always changing and developing, and have lot of contraversy.

7) A: You can ask God any question you want to if
your heart is pure and humble, innocent in asking, not
arrogant in wanting your own way ultimately.
It is true that religion gets it wrong many times and then
does not allow questioning, yet there still needs to
be unity as in science. Science has a method that
is stable and this is crutial. Religion has the same.
Both religion and science are imperfect and have
power-hungry people that get it wrong too.

8) Q: God is the creator.
Science is created by man.

8) A: God created natural laws for man to study and
God gave man the ability and curiosity to study them.

If things continue on the way they are Science and religion can't continue together. Creationists are pushing their beliefs as scientific "fact". Why can't religious people realize that scientific liberty leads to prosperity. In the dark ages religion was in control and critical thinking was banned. Then came the reformation which brought about great arts and allowed us to learn more about this beautiful world. I hope there isn't a new dark age coming.

It can. I just did a sociology paper on this question. Think about it. The two work together. Science is proving how perfect our universe is while believing in God just confirms that there had to be a creator to have such a perfect world.

This is another (perfect) example of how how empty and sophomoric the Fundies' "god vs. science" arguments are. Their statements are so lacking in knowledge and real thought, that it's nearly impossible to have a rational dialogue with them.

God and science can and do exist and have existed together. Science has to do with man's attempt to understand how the universe is created and the laws that govern it.

God is God, the creator of the universe and the source of life.

Please do not believe that only atheists believe in science and do not believe that scientists are atheists. There are scientists who we believe in God, scientists who are Muslim, scientists who are Christian, scientists who are Hindu, etc. as well as scientists who are atheists.

Nope, as soon as man "created" science God disappeared in a puff of logic.

Science is not created by man. Science is explored, discovered, and eventually understood by man.

There is science to God's creation. He is the one who created all of it. Even science.

God Bless You.
