She would have to be stationed at that AF base. Here at Eglin we have AF, Navy and Army that live here on base because the different branches have detatchments here. If she isn't stationed at the base, she cannot live there. They wouldn't allow here to take up a house that could be occupied by a family that is stationed there.

Actually the services try to help each other out when they can. I'm at a Navy base and I know we have at least 1 Army recruiter living here. She's assigned to the recruiting station, not the base. Also, when we were recruiting and the nearest base was Air Force we had the option to ask for housing there.

As long as there are open units there is a possibility that any request for housing from someone in another service would be honored.

N O, the person would have to be a member of a US Army Detachment assigned to the US Air Force Base before that person can get any housing at the base and then they have to abide by the rules of the housing authority and be put on a waiting list!!!

You can live on a base that's different from your branch of service. I lived on a Naval Base and we had Navy, Marines, Army, and Coast Guard living on it. The base is now closed and million dollar homes are built on where the barracks used to be. The good old days.

There is no way that I know of that a person in the Army can choose to move to an Airforce Base.

only if they become stationed at that base. For instance, my husband is in the Navy, and we are stationed at an Army base, so we can get into Housing here if we so choose.

But you randomly cannot pack up and ask to get on a bases' housing list unless you are stationed there.

I'm not sure about a real base in the states, but I'm going to an Air Force Base in Afghanistan. As for the Air Force jerk who called me and my fellow soldiers a slug- at least I had more guts then you to join a REAL military branch. I do far more PT then you do on a profile and the housing should be the same- no matter what.

No, not normally. However, some services have detachments on other service bases. A good example is there is an Air Force detachment at Ft. Juachuka in Arizona

Yes. There are Army personnel at an Air Force base near me. They are mostly SOCOM though.
