It kind of annoys me....I feel like they try to press you into attending church with them rather than just hearing the Word.

I'm not saying that all Jehovah Witnesses are like this but, this is what I experience.Does anyone else go through this too?

Yes, I see what some of you are saying but what if I'm on my way out somewhere important, I tell them nicely "I'm sorry to interupt but I have to be somewhere"...the lady takes it like I'm lyiing or just making an excuse...I have told people countless times that I am not interested...one time I even had about 3 trying to come into the house...they would stand by the door for about 15min like I'm going to answer the door. The last time I checked "no" meant "no"!

Jehovah's Witnesses are trained to go back to any one who shows any spark of interest! They will come back in hopes of engaging you in Bible conversation, with the ultimate goal of starting a Bible Study with you. Then they will urge you go to the Kingdom Hall meetings. They will be sweet and nice to you, tell you want you want to hear! They will encourage you that the only way you can live forever in Paradise is to get baptized!
Be afraid, be very afraid!!!!

JW's come to their neighbors homes periodically. They have what is called a territory card which is worked until the homes on those designated streets are contacted. If no one is at home they may leave some Bible literature in your door. If they come back in a few weeks it may be due to you expressing some interest in the Bible and they are only returning to see if you want to further your conversation on the Bible's message. If you tell them not to come back they won't. However, if some Witnesses check out your particular neighborhood again in say 5 months then you may be contacted again but only by chance. Those new Witnesses probably do not know that you were visited by someone else. So just tell them again that you are not interested and they will go away. But remember, they will work your territory again someday in the future. They are only fulfilling Jehovah's command to go therefore and preach about God's Kingdom.

A common misconception is that Jehovah's Witnesses go from door-to-door because they feel it is their duty to "recruit" a householder, or get him to "convert". In fact, Jehovah's Witnesses would go from door-to-door even if there were no hope that anyone would change their religion, or even if no one would listen to them!

That is because Jesus Christ specifically assigned the house-to-house ministry to the Christian congregation, with no regard for specific results.

(Luke 10:1,2) After these things the Lord designated seventy others and sent them forth by twos in advance of him into every city and place to which he himself was going to come. 2 Then he began to say to them: “The harvest, indeed, is great, but the workers are few. Therefore beg the Master of the harvest to send out workers into his harvest.

Jehovah's Witnesses are trained to direct attention to the bible, and move on when their message is unwanted. Since each congregation in the United States tries to call at every home in its territory at least twice each year, there is strong motivation for them to move on where little interest is shown. Also, the Scriptures help the Witnesses to expect little interest from most:

(2 Timothy 4:3-5) For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the healthful teaching ...and they will turn their ears away from the truth, whereas they will be turned aside to false stories. You, though, keep your senses in all things, suffer evil, do the work of an evangelizer, fully accomplish your ministry.

well we often return were we find people who are interested. Don't be annoyed, if you would like the visits to stop or just to be less frequent, mention it to the person who stops by and I am sure that they will listen to you.

Why if you believe what they are talking about do you not want to talk? Or is it that they call to much?

Like every religion we are made up of individuals who approach the "disciple making work" differently. Just know that the person obviously cares about you or they would not spend time coming to your home.

Well it sounds like you have a zealous one on your hands. No does mean no, maybe you just seem very sheep like. You must have a very nice face, and seem to be a very friendly person. I too find it very difficult to excuse myself when people are talking to me, but you just have to do it. They will be fine I am sure.

Normally we return where interest is found and try to become friends. Many who are friendly find their way to God through our visits.
We love Jehovah, and are anxious to find others who will show him love as well.
We want everyone to be saved and be with us in the new world.
I could go on, but I think your smart enough to understand we mean no harm by showing love.

It most likely,
would be that the brother or sister was new,
and excited, happy,
that you were interested.
Zealous that's all.
Forgive them.
A Scripture:
James 1:22
However, become doers of the word,
and not hearers only,
deceiving yourselves w/ false reasoning.

Well clearly if you agree with my beliefs, I would assume you wouldn't mind discussing them.

It is hard to know someone doesn't want to talk unless, they give an indication of this fact.
