Coragryph: The problem I have with this is that they keep trying to add bits and pieces of the immigration bill that was defeated by a grass roots swell of voters contacting their Legislators as amendments to unrelated legislation.
They're trying to sneak it through a piece at a time after their constituents have told them "No more".

BTW folks, I've learned to respect Coragryphys answers in the time I've been here. He always answers directly and his answer does give pause for thought. Lighten up a little.

That sucks, I don't even have health insurance and illegals get it. Maybe they should pass a bill first that all legals get it and then work on the illegals, getting out of our country that is.
Honestly, illegals are getting benefits now. All they do is go to the hospital with say a bruised toe and stiff the taxpayers with the bill. I tried getting medical assistance before and I was shut down for the following reason:
Not a drug abuser
Not an alcholic
Unwed mom with a kid
Not on welfare
Not an illegal immigrant,
If the bill passes won't make a difference because they are already getting assistance when they need it. How many illegals do you know are dying on the streets of the U.S because they can't get medical help? None, anyone can go the hospital legal and non, its just there's no way tracking the illegals to pay it. We get stiffed with the bill and also it would report on our credit reports too. Life is so unfair.

Can I close my eyes now? I think this is going to be one heck of a train wreck, colliding with the other train, and I don't want to watch it happen. Maybe I should jump off.
I read the answers for the name of the bill. But holy cow! When are they going to stop going against us? This is just ridiculous. I don't have a money tree in my backyard. Does anyone else? Because it's the taxpayers again who'll foot the bill. (no pun intended) On top of this my State Governor just gave raises of up to 24 percent or so for his top management advisers. And another 15 percent or so to lower management advisers. I better win a big lottery and soon.

I think it might the the S-CHIP Bill? Many people are upset, because instead of having to show immigration, visa, documents etc. as proof, all the applicants would have to provide is a SS#, which Social Security has already said they cannot verify a SS# is issued to a person, who is here legally.

I must say this one caught me off guard, I didn't even know that illegal immigrants were included in the S-CHIP program (or being considered). Learn something new everyday.....
I guess those are more benefits that illegals don't get according to many of the pros and those counting the "true" economic cost of illegal immigration.

I think it must be in an attempt to override Bush's veto of the children's health act which would give free ins to illegal immigrant children with a family income of up to $80,000 or something. The House is where it is likely to fail. They raised the illegal immigrant issue. The senate passed it to begin with with 'veto overriding' votes.

And LaRaza is harassing the Senate about the Dream Act - keep calling!
I heard someone say that they got Hillary's health care passed in bits and pieces and that is what they are trying with immigration.
They hate us and want us destroyed!

It involves SCHIP and is on the list of legislation pending this week. And yes, it will benefit illegal aliens.
SCHIP (State Children's Health Insurance Program), reauthorization

This next link is letter from the SS administration answering 7 questions on whether illegal aliens will be able to access free care. The answers explain..yes they will and it's expected.

Heard about this late last week. I think they hoped to move it through last night. Kind of wish they would. Might backlash on them this spring in the primaries.
