Nope, that's why the IRS doesn't exist, state departments of revenue don't exist and nobody has withholdings taken from their paycheck. Oh, wait, my balloon must have landed in OZ, that's the only place that this is true for. If you don't believe me go ahead and stop paying income taxes, see what the IRS and your state tell you about tax law and paying taxes.

There is a law called the Internal Revenue Code. However, it does not say that you must do it yourself. You can pay someone to do it for you.

Yes, if you earn over a certain amount of money, you must file a tax return. Go to irs.gov and look at "Who must file?"

You are required to file if your income is over certain limits. There is no law on whether you have to fill it out yourself or have someone else do it, but you must sign it, and you are responsible for what is filed.

You don't have to do your own return. You can let the IRS do it for you. Just don't complain about the figure they come up with.

Of course there is -- you would not have to file if there wasn't. It's called Title 26 of the US Code. Google it if you want to read it.
