Because there is an utter lack of proof of the existence of any god.

I was not raised in a religious family setting. I believe in my family and friends. I have strong values and morales that I live by-that I have learned over the years by living life- I don't need to read it in a book. No offense taken. Have a great day.

Where is he?

If god is so loving

Why does he permit all this suffering.

You may believe that he is allowing Job: Part II , so we can choose between him and satan.

But does that mean we are only a game to him?

Why should people who do love him. Ask questions with no answers?

Why should people born different feel ...different?

if God loves all...where is he?

And why does he make loving him ...like loving an abusive father?

It is not hard to do what is right. it is hard to love someone who doesnt show up.

I only accept things based on proof. Unless I have personally experienced it or the evidence shown me can be verified and/or repeated, I cannot put faith in it. I won't deny it until somebody shows me proof that it doesn't exist, which makes me an Agnostic as far as God is concerned, but until I see the evidence either way, it is really a non-issue to me except on a purely philosophical level.

Other than the utter lack of evidence, the many discrepancies in the bible, and the fact that christian people are extremely annoying and I'd never want to be like them, there is just one reason for me--

Because if there was a god, my life wouldn't suck as it does now.

I have everything and nothing all at once. The one thing I worked my butt off for the last 4 years is the one thing I can't have. That's b s.
And don't tell me that's god's plan. Why would god make me want something so badly I can taste it, and then take it all away from me?

The concept of god(s) does not fit in with my concept of reality. The idea of invisible beings that semi-control all events in the universe, yet choose to keep themselves hidden so that any people who don't believe they exist, the god(s) can damn to eternal suffering, (or whatever the punishment is from a particular god) is simply preposterous.

I need hard evidence plus the religious fanatics that I have seen are ignorant hypocrites. See Jerry Falwell, George Bush, stories of the bible, wealthy church leaders in poor parrishes, alter-boy-raping-priests, suicide bombers, the war in Iraq and everybody who dismiss science due to a religious malfunction, hindering ones ability to expand their mind and truly grow into a non-judging, productive, self-sufficient human being who can improve without the cables of the Grand Puppetmaster pulling on them.

The bible is a convoluted, contradictory, poorly written work which is based on older, better written, works from the various cultures the jews shared land with. Besides that mish mash, there is not enough evidence anywhere to convince me that there is a magical, bearded voyeur in the sky that created us and yet still somehow wants to watch everything we do and keep score.

Because he doesent exist, it would make more sense for me to ask you "why do you beleive in god when he isnt real?", all religion is fake anyway, there are no gods or heaven or hell or any of that rubbish for that matter. When you think about it, it's ridiculous isnt it?, wars have been fought over imaginary people, and the things they never did.

The same reason you don't believe in Zeus.

Now I have a couple of questions for you... Didn't you see this exact question has been asked 462,253,725,957,891 times? If so, did you think the answers would be different this time?
