ive put since 3rd sep [cos my last exam finished 29th aug] but i just realised that i actually finished university in june...and all i did was 4 exams in august so should i have started claiming since june...how far can they backdate it and will i be successful...
i am looking for a job but its hard...just finished a degree....and need any extra cash..so should i put a claim in since june...

As far as I'm aware it won't be backdated at all. Your claim runs from the day after you submit the forms regardless of when you became unemployed. You could check out the jobcentre plus website for a definite answer though.

Although you may have finished your exam in june depending on when your funding ended is the earliest date you could ask for it back-dating.

To have it back datedyou have to apply when you make you new claim so if your already signing on don't bother.

If you've not yet claim you'll have to provide evidence of your job search but this will delay your claim being processed even more than usual.

No one can say if will be successful every one is looked at independantly & awarded on its own merits.

You can put a claim in, but you won't get paid. They don't do a great deal of that backdating. Even a few days.
