Ok my (2) little babies are 5 weeks old now and very active. I purchased a new box for them because mom and dad have their own I put my little smokey in the litter box and helped him scratch his paw and he got the idea right away. Now my little kimba, well she seems to be a little bit of a late bloomer, I placed her in the box also but she started to eat the litter and now shes just going everywhere, especially at night when she climbs up on the bed and sleeps next to me, i guess she's warm when she wakes up and just let's it out. What do I do, I know I need a little more patience, but there's only so many times I want to go to the laundry to wash kitty pee off my sheets. Thank God they don't have that grown up cat amonia smell yet, anyhow, please give me suggestions. Thank you.

You should keep her in a kennel or something at night when you can't watch her that way if she goes potty it won't be all over, you are right you do need patience, she will eventually get it. Take her to the box about ever hour or two, if you see her start to go potty put her in the box quickly. My cat ate his litter at first too, I thought it was hilarious!

Whatever you do, don't scold her! Cats don't go in their litter box for a reason. In her case, she is probably just too young to catch on yet or is sleeping too soundly as someone else has said. But, it could be that she has some sort of infection...or maybe she doesn't like the smell of her brother's pee/poo. It could be several things which is why vets tell you not to scold them. Cats are very finicky creatures!

You may have to put her in a room with a litter box until she gets the idea. Put a piece of mom's poop in the box so she can smell where to go. After she has gone successfully for a few days, let her come out and see what happens.

if you can, collect her droppings and put them into the litter box. also, if you see her crouching to pee, pick her up and put her in the box right away. it takes some time, but after a while she will realize that pee and poo goes in the litter box. you should also scold her if you immediately find her peeing or deficating outside the box, not after you find pee or poo, because she won't associate the scolding with her pee or poo. after a while she will see that the other cats pee in the litter box too. just takes time.

bring your baby to the litter pan ,hold her in it,take her paw and gently scratch the litter with her paw.this should do the trick.also do not change the place of the litter pan so she always knows where her toilet is.
