Or the sun was God.....
....please just ponder it awhile before you reply with an instant defensive response.

There are many things that coincide with this theory, but I actually heard one of my friends say it, and so I have been thinking about it. But the sun does give us life, we can not look directly at it, it provides warmth, it is seen amongst the clouds but really far away, it watches over us, and people are always told to "go toward the light" when they have near-death experiences.....these are just a few of the things I have thought of.

The sun is just a medium sized star in a not-so-special galaxy, and it had no part in the Big Bang. I guess if you don't believe that the whole universe is God's work, but only our solar system, it could float--since the sun is what allows and sustains life here.

Well, except for at the bottom of the ocean...

Then we would worship it and name a day after it. Most likely the first day as the Sun is great. Arguably better than the moon. I do like Tyr, Wodan and Thor though. Maybe we could wind down with Freja before heading to Saturn.

Why, what did you think would happen?

That is one, of many, Pagan/Wiccan ideas. The sun is, or is the symbol of, God. The moon is, or the symbol of, the Goddess.

Um...yeah... I know the sun seems "super-dewper" far and stuff, but like... it's really not. It's a star, angel. One of many.

Then there's about 100 billion gods out in just our galaxy. Damn, that's a lot.
