A change in diet can definitely cause one's bowel patterns to shift a bit. However, good digestion tends to be key in maintaining optimal health. Likewise, a good, well balanced diet aids in "proper" digestion. Finding a good source of fiber and balancing Omega3 and Omega6 intake seems to be a perfect regimen for your system for many reasons: it establishes proper digetion, balances pro and anti-inflammatory properties, helps insulin levels, cleans out intestinal toxins and the list goes on and on. Try looking for a good book that will give you "IFratings." This will be a good resource that will guide you on how to effectively balance your Omega 3 and Omega 6 intake, and follow a path towards optimal health and comfortable digestion. Good Luck!

What you eat and how much absolutely effects your bowel movements.
A balanced diet is really the best. In my opinion going overboard with any one aspect isn't healthy.
Don't keep bouncing back and forth between eating healthy and eating unhealthy - your body has to work to adjust and work harder to process the unhealthy stuff. Just eat healthy and see if things don't level out for you.
If you are eating healthy and balanced and still have problems, talk with your Dr as there are various conditions that can contribute to intestinal and bowel distress. But get your diet right first and work from there.
Good luck.

yes, definitely. what you eat determines what comes out the other end. people who don't eat right, don't have normal bowel movements and the toxins build up in their bodies. make sure you eat plenty of fiber rich foods to keep you cleaned out and healthy.
