People say it is good to use peroxide for acne but it dries out your skin. If it dries out your skin, wouldnt your body produce and excessive amount of oil in order to replace the oils lost from using peroxide, and wouldnt this excess of oils cause more pimples?

YOU ARE CORRECT!
It's like burning your skin (pimpled area) and then applying a cooling gel (moisturizer) after - - huh?!?!?
There are reasons why you break-out. Find out if it's diet, stress, dry skin, oily skin, improper cleansing, etc.
Mine was a combination of POOR DIET, stress, dry skin and improper cleansing. I DID NOT eat enough fruits & veggies (hated them with a passion)! I was stressed (single mom of three for 10 years)! I had dry skin coz I DID NOT drink enough water/clear fluids - - I used to drink a 6-pack or more of Diet Coke! And I used all the wrong STRONG stuff for cleansing - Pond's, Clearasil, Dove, Avon, Proactive, Artistry, NuSkin, etc.

Now? Simplified life - - I CHOOSE to eat MORE fruits & veggies because I CHOOSE to have better looking skin (afterall, I'm given ONLY ONE BODY which I choose to care for)! Stress is highly minimized coz kids are grown (21, 20 & 16) and I'm happily married. I drink AT THE VERY LEAST 70 ounces of water everyday (not including sugar-free juices) - - no more sodas especially DIET stuff (these are HORRIBLY BAD for the body)! Cleansing - - I use Caress bar soap in the morning and Neutrogena Glycerine Clear Bar Soap in the evening to remove make-up followed by a peptide lotion.

For the acne scars? Only one product that has worked wonders for a month and a half now - - - this I use 2-3 times a week only and the results have been more than amazing.

Good LUCK!

PS: Drink plenty of water FIRST!! Drink half of your weight in ounces (Ex: 140 pounds / 2 = 70 OUNCES). Don't like the taste of water? Put a squeeze of lemon or lime OR but cubes of cucumber in the bottle.

Most definetly it will cause your body to produce more sebum if you are putting the peroxide all over the face, this could also burn the skin as it is very harsh for it.
If you use a q-tip and put it individually on each pimple that is a bit better.
You could also use pure lavender oil, this is a natural antiseptic and just apply it at night with a q-tip on each pimple.
If you time it right when you wake in the morning it would have come up to a white head pimple or dried it all out, but this too can burn the skin if used too much.
Try not to touch the face all the time as you have lots of bacteria on your fingertips which will infect the pimples if you are picking and touching.

I'm not sure but I used to use it, the best thing I found to use (because I get really deep ones sometimes growing where there is a hair follicle) is called bye bye blemish. It comes in a small white box with blue writing, the product is in a glass bottle. It cost around $10 a bottle but very much worth it. It is Pink, (make sure to get the pink because they have a clear gel also, it does not work as well) you put it on a pimple using a Q~tip and usually if it is a bad one it takes 2 days to go away. You notice a difference if you put it on a pimple at night, the next morning you'll be surprised with the results. Sometimes if I am having a extra oily face day, I will first wash my face and then smooth a LIGHT layer over my whole face. When it dries, I then smooth it in with my finger tips, you wont even notice it. I get it at the beauty store, I think Walgreen's carries it also. Here is the web site on the bottle http://www.byebyeblemish.com/

Yes peroxide can dry out your skin, but it also kills the bacteria that causes acne. Use it judiciously w/ a mild cleanser & light moisturizer if necessary to avoid drying out your skin.

Not if you use moisturizer after applying the peroxide.

Yes. But that's if you overuse it.
If you use it once a day or two, it won't.
