I wouldn't decorate it at all. You're getting married on a ball field... I think that would qualify as a "theme" wedding and as such, the field IS the decoration.

Hi and congratulations on your upcoming wedding!
A baseball field....that is unique!!
First, are you having just the ceremony there or the reception too??? You don't say....so it's hard to give ideas, but here are a few anyway!!! lol
1. You can still have an arch. This is easy to do. No...you can't push it into the ground.....but I will give you an idea of what we did at my son & daughter-in-laws wedding.......here is a picture of the kind that we used - from Michael's Craft Store (also at Walmart).....

What they never show in the pictures is you need to have something to hold it up (something to anchor it into, otherwise they are really flimsy.) What we did was my husband got two blocks of wood -- painted them white and drilled holes big enough for the ends to secure into. That way it stabilized the arch.
OR....another idea that we saw at a wedding....was to get big clay pots (again, paint them white) and fill them with white rocks (available at home stores in the "garden/outdoor" section) and then place the arch in that.
2. I would have you and the groom stand at home plate looking out (towards the infield/outfield) and then have rows of chairs facing you.
3. Other than the arch (or an arbor if you want) idea, I wouldn't do anything other than to have the nice white chairs for your guests.
If you are having your reception there also, please email me and I will give you some other ideas for decorating for the reception.
Have fun and I hope you have a beautiful wedding!

I think that the stadium is decoration enough.
Maybe (depending on how many attendants you have or willing children in attendance) someone to hold a couple of big pennants on poles (so no need to poke holes)
It'd be kinda cool if you wedding officiant wore an umpire's uniform, especially if its not an ultra formal ceremony.

I think trying to "decorate" the area will just compete with it. You are doing something unusual and fun, don't worry if it doesn't have a typical altar.
I do like the idea of balloons, though. Normally, any mention of balloons and weddings makes me cringe, but in this situation I could see a balloon arch totally working. Or, you could release a bunch into the sky as you are pronounced husband & wife!

I wouldn't add anything, I think it's totally cute as it is! You could give your guests baseball caps with your names on them as wedding favors and they could wear them during the ceremony (caps can be bought in bulk online and are relatively cheap).
I'd go out in a white dress and have on a pair of cleats underneath as a joke, but that's just me.
Good luck and congrats!

You could get a few flower arrangements with a whole lot of balloons. The arc could be done with the balloons.

how about an arbor of some sort? is that what it is called? or an archway? lol. i am sure you could rent one and then decorate it with whatever would go with the theme of your wedding.

I love the idea of having a wedding on a baseball field! Maybe you can get an arched trellis decorated with flowers and vines! You can probably find one that doesn't need to have holes put in the ground too!
Enjoy your wedding!
PS - I'm 28.
