There were like 23 answers when I got back to the question. Thank you all very much, especially the Jehovah's Witnesses' respondents. There are lots of churches and worship halls near my house but it is the only one without window, so that is why I asked.

Generally, a Kingdom Hall is built without windows only in areas which tend toward hate crimes and vandalism against houses of worship. Sadly, it seems that the questioner is from such an area, and perhaps even more sad that such religious intolerance occurs worldwide.

Perhaps these anti-Witness bigots fail to understand that their vandalism and persecution actually work to help prove that Jehovah's Witnesses are true Christians.

(2 Timothy 4:3-5) For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the healthful teaching, but, in accord with their own desires, they will accumulate teachers for themselves to have their ears tickled; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, whereas they will be turned aside to false stories. You, though, keep your senses in all things, suffer evil, do the work of an evangelizer, fully accomplish your ministry.

You and I both know how much Jehovah's Witnesses are hated. Believe me I know because I am a Jehovah's Witness.
It has been reported that alot of so called Christians in the area have broken windows at our Kingdom Halls and some have even been burned down.

My family basically disowned me when I started studying with Jehovah's Witnesses.
My Mom did not talk to me for years and it cut me deep !!!

We have had experiences where a Father told his Daughter when he found out that she was studying to be a Jehovah's Witness, that he would rather her be a prostitute than become one of Jehovah's Witness !!!

Jesus spoke about the divisions that would take place between families when they accepted his teaching and followed in his footsteps.

This is not surprising to us.
So if we decide to build Kingdom Halls with no windows, you should be reasonable and understand why.

Everyone is invited to our Kingdom Halls, our Circuit Assemblies, and District Conventions. We do not meet in the dark and hold secret meetings. Please come to a meeting, we would love to have you learn the truth.

Is this a generalization or an assumption?

Kingdom Halls built under the "quick build" program generally do not have windows. This is because windows are expensive, time consuming to install, a possible target of vandals and a possible site for air infiltration.

Windows are also an expense when they become targets of vandals. Even when covered by insurance, repeated claims will drive up the cost of premiums.

That said, there are areas where building codes require windows and they are installed as required

The Kingdom Hall that I go to does have windows, and others don't. It's cheaper to build without windows. There is nothing inside that we are trying to hide. If you want to see what it's like inside, feel free to walk in, and even stay during the meeting to see how we run everything. We do not force you to give us money, but you can donate some money to the Worldwide Work, but you don't have to.

We rely on peoples donations (which we never ask for) to build new Kingdom Halls and cutting out windows can save around $10,000.00 more or less. It also cuts down on heating bills in the winter (which we all donate money to pay if we can)and maintenance when windows need repair.

It depends. All of the kingdom halls I have ever been in have windows. And I've been to KH's all over this country and abroad.

Maybe it's a situation unique to the area that particular kingdom call is in. Is there vandalism in the neighborhood etc.?

The closest one to my house has no windows, but the inside is beautiful. Very clean and everything organized (I can receive alot of good example from them). Don't worry working on my house! You know, I never noticed about the windows and I thought about this for a while. I can't come to think off why I haven't noticed except for the reason that I am not thinking or looking for anything bad with this religion. My conscious is honest and clear with the JW's so I DON'T think anything bad or suspicious. In fact I was just there yesterday and brought my hubby to meet my teacher. He liked them and said they are very nice people and so he satisfied that my daughter and I are in good hands to learn about the Bible. How do you all like that? Yes!!! He stayed for the studies and read and participated. He said he wants to join in again! Praises to Jehovah God all around!!!

Because they decided to built it that way. I promise you plenty of Kingdom Halls in Dallas TX do have windows. It all depends on the weather...I think.

Some do have windows...lol

It's not because we are being secretive or anything....the Kingdom Hall is a public place and anyone can come in and listen or observe as long as they aren't disruptive or aggressive.

Your best bet would be to ask member's who attend that Kingdom Hall. The first Kingdom Hall I remember attending had no windows, it was a BAD BAD neighborhood. We even had to put a brick cage arround the air unit to keep people from stealing it.
