its stupid because while drunk you can hurt others or youself and when smoking cigarettes you will eventually get cancer. And dont tell me it alters your mind because when i use it it does the total opposite!

These answers make me shake my head.
It's ridiculous that people still believe the hype the government put out in the 30's.
Weed is great.
Nurse what'syour name... Are you aware that pot smokers spend an average of $256 less on health care than non smokers. Are you also aware that weed prevents the growth of lung cancer cells.
It's also a proven fact that those who smoke pot get higher pay raises and promotions.
If you think I'm bullshitting, feel free to research it.

As for your answer.... I'm not sure why. I've smoked with cops and judges and I doubt they can answer that one themselves....

The reason wh we are allowed to have guns is because if someone robs you then you have the ability to defend yourself. Do you honestly think a burglar is going to care if he broke a do not own a gun, no he just broke a do not steal. Also Marijuana is illegal because it is addictive, it cause testicular cancer, it also bad for your lungs. Most people lace Marijuana with other drugs to get a higher high. Cigarettes should be illegal i will agree with that. But as for alcohol, alcohol was illegal at one point in time, that is what created the Mafia more people where killed by the mafia in a year than alcohol kills in a year. So in turn we all benefit from guns, we all benefit from alcohol being legal, and as for the cigarettes and pot well noone benefits the thing is they both hurt your lungs

Certainly you are not the first person to make this argument, although the problem is each of your statements in controversial.
Medicinal - Clearly there are medicinal uses for marijuana, but whether marijuana is better and/or safer than alternatives is controversial. Unfortunately many of the proponents for medical marijuana are just plain stoners, and many opponents oppose it because it is a "drug".
Safer than alcohol and cigarettes - This statement is also controversial. If use is sporadic (not daily), then it might be less carcinogenic than cigarettes, but it certainly not "safe". Cigarettes are not intoxicating. Comparing marijuana to alcohol is more problematic. Regular marijuana abuse is probably not as dangerous as heavy alcohol use (more than 2 or 3 drinks a day or frequent binge drinking). However, most people who use alcohol do not drink that heavily ; therefore, for the majority of people alcohol is safer. That is they are not drinking to become intoxicated. Whereas everyone who uses marijuana wants to be intoxicated.

When you smoke marijuana it does the opposite of altering your mind? So it doesn't do anything to you? Then why do you smoke it?

Marijuana is not safe. It has an even higher risk of cancer than 'plain' cigarettes, as well as other lung diseases. It also alters your thinking process. [ you just think you are smarter. ]
If you don't believe it, just record a conversation of you and your friends while high.
I am a nurse, and have seen people high on almost everything. I have yet to have an intelligent conversation with anyone high on anything, including marijuana and alcohol.
PS: marijuana also eventually lowers your sperm count, but not a method of birth control.

most people who drink, do so in moderation to help them relax. People who smoke cigarettes don't care about themselves because if they did, they would quite. people smoke marijuana to get high. Like someone who drinks too much a person who is high on drugs is a danger to themselves and others.
