In my last question about people dying being part of God's plan, one person said that it isn't God's plan for people to die, but rather an effect of man screwing up and allowing sin into the world.

Please explain this logically.

I don't believe that. He/she died because bad stuff happens and it's tragic.

How can an all-loving God permit bad things to happen? I dunno. If you want to see what theologians say about it, google "theodicy."

This is where some religions get into an area that smacks more of what they have chosen to believe,as opposed to reality. If I'm not mistaken, sin started coming into the world when Eve took a bite of that apple. This is also why I dont discuss religion with too many people. What I believe is exactly that-no more. I think you know your best friend died because there was an accident. For someone to bring God into everything does a disservice to a lot of people who dont think the same way. I'm sorry about your friend and I'm also sorry for whoever it was that said she died because sin had entered the world.

That's absolute nonsense, there is no such thing as a sin, sin is a society matter... and it's interpretation varies also from one culture to another, from one religion to other. but still, no matter who we are and what we believe in, we are all mortal.
Logically, sin is a dogma. It has nothing to do with God, but with the particular society group.
your friend died because it was time. there are things in life we can not change, and the only we can do is to accept them. Death is a part of life, not just our own death but of those we love and care. Watch the nature, everything has a beginning and an end. Everything. It is of course easy to talk this way, but trust me i know how it feels.
i believe in destiny, and i believe in God... in my own, very "unchristian" way.

PS. Whoever gave this comment tried probably just to provoke you, or the person is a complete jerk.

It could be either. God is all knowing and all powerful, but he also must respect the agency of mankind. Sometimes people die because God has a purpose for it. Sometimes people die because the actions of man cause it. God allows this to happen because agency is an essential part of his plan. To learn and grow we must be allowed to make mistakes and to live with the consequences.

I'm sorry for your loss. I too have lost many friends and family members. The bible does teach that death entered the world because of sin. Whether you believe that or not is up to you.

Romans 5:12 (King James Version)
Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

I still think untimely deaths are like war victims. I believe the powers of good and evil are at war, and that is why I vehemently believe we should pray over our families every single day and learn how to have faith in God and trust him. It's not about blame it was an accident. But when something bad happens we can decide to learn how we could prevent something like that from happening again and find a way to turn it out for good somehow, in honor of that person. that's how MADD got started. Sometimes Christians ........good ones, have learned to pray harder and be more zealous because of tragedy and being determined to see less people suffer needlessly. this is why I spend much of my time in prayer and the word and not with my face in the television set like I used to before I was saved. I hope this helps you I do grieve with you as this is very very hard. www.kimdaniels.com

----Someone committing suicide ( not a part of God's plan)

----Someone dieing in a car accident while drunk driving ( not a part of God's plan)

----Someone dieing of AIDS ( not a part of God's plan)

----Someone dieing of old age and is "saved" ( a part of God's plan)

----Babies dieing before birth or at birth to a crack patient ( not a part of God's plan)

-----My brother who was a born again Christian, was an excellent swimmer, never been in trouble for anything, an A student......yet died from drowning ( a part of God's plan)

..............basically, the truth is it does not matter if you live a life that is really really good and you do all the right things. People die under thousands of different circumstances, but all that matters to God is whether you are SAVED or not.

According to the Bible:

Adam and Eve were both created without any original sin. There was also no death. Eve ate from the forbidden fruit of the tree of knowledge. This was the beginning of humans sinning against God. Eve gave the fruit to Adam and he ate also. Both sinned and were driven from the Garden of Eden so they could not eat the fruit of the tree of eternal life. Part of the curse on all of humanity was that they would die and return to dust. (Along with difficult childbirth and work to grow food) Therefore, all sin is the result of sin entering the world.

I not going to try to convince you it is right or wrong. I am simply going to explain the Biblical basis for the belief in "original sin".

God didn't attach strings to us to manipulate us as if we were his puppets! If He did that, we wouldn't have "free will". In the present world there will be times of happiness, sadness and sometimes accidents that result in death. God doesn't plan this. It's just the way things happen. He promises to be with us every step of the way, whether we are in the process of living or dying. Your best friend died because of an accident, not because of punishment from God.

Yes, I'm pretty sure that's the usual Christian response. Bad things happen because sin entered the world... its a convenient way to have an all-good all-powerful God that sits on the sidelines while senseless acts of evil and tragedy occur daily.

Uhm... well... God can't control us! He talk to us (through orther people and the bible and stuff... ) But he can't really control us (well he could but he doesn't want to because what life would it be if we had someone controling us all the time... we wouldn't learn anything for ourselves!)

I really have no idea what that person was saying... God does know what will happen, and maybe everything does happen for a reason, but God does not CAUSE it to happen! Humans caused it to happen... he didn't just say.. Today "your friend" is going to die in an awful car crash ..He has a time planned out for us to go to him... But you friend just got a little bit of a head start!

Good luck and God bless your friend!!
