Clear liquids keep your hydrated. You want to keep your system flushed out.
Benadryl calms allergy symptoms like runny nose, itchy, watery, sneezing.
Avoid milk products, these just make your phlegm worse and keep you congested.
Eucalyptus and mint smells help clear your head.
Get lots of rest, and work up a good sweat each day so you can release more toxins (followed by a good shower) to wash them off your skins. Keep up your hygiene so you don't get sicker pass to others by cross contaminate areas of your home. This means bathing every day, and lots of handwashing esp after handling your used tissues and after covering your mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze.
Stay away from high traffic hand-areas like computer keyboards and playing cards if you can help it. This just spreads it around to others when those items are shared. Sanitize door handles, light switches, phone parts, remote controls etc with Lysol.
Eat for health. Fruits and veggies will help you fight it.

there is no cure for the common cold, because there are so many different variations on the cold virus, you never catch the same one twice.
