I was crazy in a different way then now. Before I had my kids I was crazy in a fun loving, dye your hair aqua, bungee jump, sky dive, party loving kinda way. Now I'm crazy in a few different ways...not the good kind either. Now I'm the ow my god is she still breathing, check the door to make sure they were locked, how come I don't have friends now that I have a baby, is she eating enough for her age, did I sterilize that pacifier kinda way.

There will come a time when you think you are absolutely losing your mind! You will remember the you before kids and wish you could just be that care free, completely sane person once again. These times come and go, and they are hard.
But there will also come a time when your kid does something that makes you both belly laugh so hard. There will come a time that your child is sick and you are the MOST important thing to them. And then there will be the time they do something so great, and that feeling of pride is enough to make your heart and mind both explode with joy.
So, yes, they can make you crazy. But it's SO worth it! Besides, being crazy can be fun!
How I deal with it - I choose my battles carefully. I can't stress that there are week old french fries in my car and I know when I get home they will forget to take off their shoes though I have told them a MILLION times. But once the chaos settles, and we sit together for dinner, there is sure to be smiles and giggles (and it's just a bonus when they compliment what I made for dinner)
Good luck!

Oh yes! I tell my toddler [jokingly] almost everyday; "You're going to send me to the loony bin before I'm 25!" He laughs and laughs. It also adds some comic relieve if I'm stressed out about something. Was I crazy before? Not really. It's a crazy time but it all works out.

Bridges are my fear also. Before my son was born I didn't like them, but was fine driving over them. When my husband and I were dating I would have to drive the Twin Span into New Orleans to see him and it didn't bother me. Now, I only take my son into the city to the zoo and such if my husband drives. I have a huge fear of going over the side and not being able to get my baby out of the back seat. I keep a seat belt cutter and a window breaker in my driver's side door pocket just in case. I have actually had nightmares about going over the side of a bridge and dying trying to get my son out of his seat...it was horrible.

No. I am young, I have two boys and a little girl on the way. Its important you bring them in when you are ready financially and emotionally stable. When you're calm on okay they are too. Parenting is the greatest experience ever! =)
