I don't know if I'd say that Marley and Matisyahu "disguise" their message, but I agree with your point.....Christian rock is pretty horriffic.

I think you'll find the percentage of good musicians about the same in the Christian population as anywhere else. The phenomenon you're noticing is due to the inordinate number of hacks that imagine themselves talented in the Christian community.

That goes against the second law of christian rock, which states:

'Nothing can improve Christian Rock. It is irreparably lame'

The first law states: 'If you can't play an instrument or sing, do not let that stop you from playing christian rock'.

The mute button makes all rock better, it also improves hip hop, country and other forms of music that are regurgitated decade after decade.

Usually, yes. Christian "rock" is a joke as a general rule. Skillet, however, is a very good band. I actually still listen to them.
