Do you close the living room curtains before you sexually abuse the children?
Both questions are rediculous!
This isn't an honest question to get information. This is a mocker's question trying to tear down the straw men you built up in the vain imagination of your heart!
I was once told that there are no dumb questions. However, if I DO find one, that will tell me a LOT about the asker.

A cult is usually based upon a single charismatic leader, while religion is based upon a general philosophy.
The Branch Dividians led by David Koresh was a cult.
Heaven's Gate led by Marshall Applewhite was a cult.
The Roman Catholics led by the Pope... Oooops! Never mind.

Not exactly. Religion is a way of thinking and cult is an organization. Religious group is another way of saying, cult.

I define religion as a set of beliefs regarding where we came from, why we're here and where we are going. In other words, the meaning of life. In this sense everyone has religion. Some subscribe to God centered religions, others subscribe to science centered religions, and still others subscribe to philosophy centered religions. None of these are absolute. They all require an equal amount of faith. Ultimately we believe what we choose to believe and we look down on who we choose to look down on.
